Digging, digging, digging

So, none of my ladies got the Love Fool achievement, for reasons explained in my last post. Hopefully next year they'll be higher level due to the expansion, and Blizzard will forget to update the achievement requirements :p

Iolanthe and MadMargaret are now both working solely on archaeology. Iolanthe maxed it out ages ago, and has all the achievements but one: the Professor one, for which she needs 20 rare artefacts. So far she has 16, so it shouldn't take too much longer, but she won't be able to stop there... she'll want to get all the rare artefacts there are.

MadMargaret is a long way behind, but is making rapid progress now that she doesn't have anything else to distract her (she was still questing when Iolanthe started). She passed level 300 skill last night and is just thinking about going to Outland to get some orc stuff.

Mabel is the only one who's questing at the moment. She did manage to get a bit further with Love is in the Air stuff than I originally thought, mainly because she remembered she had a Mirror Image spell, and with that she was able to kill the Uldum guys quite easily. She finished the Oracle and Frenzyheart achievements while she was still in Storm Peaks. She's finished Storm Peaks now (except for the Iron Colossus quest, which seems impossible, but maybe she'll try again now she's level 84. Currently she's 30-odd quests into Icecrown (she's just finished the chain where you fly all over the place to save the dying crusader - so pretty when A'dal ascends him!) but has been a bit sidetracked by cooking and fishing dailies, after she realised that doing them is the only way to get lots of the recipes.

She's done all the fishing stuff in the capital cities (except the coins in Dalaran...) and almost all the cooking - there's one Darnassus daily (Back to Basics) that will not come up - but she'll have to continue doing cooking dailies for quite a while in order to get all the recipes. She's also been doing the Dalaran cooking dailies, but only so she can get a chef's hat, and she'll be there in another day or two.

Darkmoon Fayre will be back this week! Where did this month go?!?

Elder at last!

We made it! Iolanthe and MadMargaret both managed to survive enough of the Northrend dungeons that they both finally got the Elder title. I'm delighted about this! They both also did quite a few of the Northrend dungeon achievements at the same time. That's very satisfying too, because I never did any of the WotLK dungeon content with a group - everyone I know stopped playing regularly not long after Wrath launched. So it's all new stuff to me, and it's great fun. The only one that neither of them have been able to do is Ymiron in Utgarde Pinnacle, but other than him most things were OK. MadMargaret couldn't save Brann Bronzebeard in Halls of Stone, but Iolanthe was fine with that, because she could heal him, and that made all the difference.

Both of them are now trying to get the last few Love is in the Air achievements, but it looks as if My Love is like a Red, Red Rose might be the one that stops them both getting the title. I was quite hopeful when I read that the bouquet dropped from a few Wrath bosses that I already know they can kill, but I went and tried all of them (on both my mains) and it didn't drop. Seems the drop has been changed. Then I even dashed through the Deadmines last night after reading that Admiral Ripsnarl drops it on both normal and heroic, but he didn't on normal, and I can't do heroic on my own. Might try one more time, but if there's no bouquet I'll give up! Elder was the title I really wanted, anyway.

Mabel is now in Storm Peaks, but she's still popping back to Sholazar Basin to do the Frenzyheart and Oracles achievements. She's also trying to do the Love Fool achievements, but there's a long way to go, especially as one of the dailies requires her to go to Uldum to fight L83 mobs, and she's only L82 and hasn't been there yet. I took her to try it out, and she managed to kill one, but then kept dying. Oh well.

She has at least done all the Elder achievements she can do, so next year she'll only have to do the dungeons and the Cataclysm ones. But she got so much XP by running round for them that I thought it would be worth taking some of my lower alts on the world tour as well. This plan lasted only as far as Crossroads, where Katisha got killed repeatedly by a ?? Horde guard.

However, the Darkmoon Faire is in town this week, so I've taken all my alts there to do the profession quests. These are doubly fantastic, because not only do all the profession skill levels get raised by 5 for very little effort, but there is loads of XP as well. All my alts are now a level higher as a result \o/
